Grace Ramirez is far from your average television chef. This vivacious and stylish icon, known as ‘La Latina’ has lived all around the world and not only cooks exquisite Latin cuisine, but also empowers children, women and minorities to find their personal power and passion through educating them about every aspect of food, including creating a healthy relationship with it.

Where do you work: I do many things...I'm the World Wide Ambassador for Zacapa Rum, an Activist for World Central Kitchen and the UN & The Act Now sustainability campaign, I have a catering business I do global food shows, so the world is my kitchen
How did you get into cooking? I'm a career changer, I started in TV production so I went from Directing a show for the Food Network to culinary school
What item of food best describes your personality: Definitely a knife
Favourite thing to do on your day off (apart from sleep!): Meditate at least one hour a day and exercise
What Polka’s do you have: Classic Houndstooth but I cant wait to get my hands on the black on black
Top recommendation for food in your city: I live in NYC so I have top recommendations by areas the list is too long
Biggest inspiration: I get really inspired by people like Chef Jose Andres or Kerry Diamond from Cherry Bombe because everything they do has a higher purpose. I do what I do because I have a social responsibility with my culture, I am a voice to my community
